Building initiatives program – Large firmsThe PIBGE program has been available since 2005 to managers of commercial and institutional buildings (both existing and new buildings) that pay the L-rate. Its energy analysis section grants financial aid for energy audits, which help determine ways of improving energy efficiency. The program also aims to raise awareness about energy efficiency among employees and managers so as to encourage application of the recommended energy-saving measures. The building energy optimization section encourages clients to carry out energy efficiency renovation projects by providing financial aid to help reduce the length of time required for a return on investment, and provides personalized accompaniment for the project. It does not prescribe specific energy efficient measures, but provides instead a framework for implementing the projects proposed by clients to improve the energy performance of their facilities. |
